Miss Megan started dancing at the age of three years old and has never stopped. She started dancing at the Dancers EDGE 9 years ago and then joined the Company and competed for 6 years and loved it! Megan has been a teachers assistant for the past couple years and loves working with kids! She is a senior at Linn Mar high school and is in the varsity show choir 10th Street Edition! She also was a JV Pom her freshman year of high school. She is involved in many clubs at Linn Mar including SODA, TRY, Lean On Me, LM Buddies, and Student Ambassedors. Miss Megan teaches Tinies and Hip Hop classes.
Miss Maddie started at The Dancer's EDGE as a student in Miss Stephanie’s Tinies class in 2008, which was the year the studio first opened. Since then, she has performed in Recital every year. In 2012, she was accepted into The Company and went on to compete for 6 years. In 2014, she started as an EDGE Assistant and has been been assisting in a dance class room ever since. Maddie is also involved in the varsity show choir Tenth Street Edition and many clubs and organizations at school including SODA, TRY, Lean On Me, Student Council, Student Advisory, Student Ambassadors, LMTV News, Model United Nations, Contest Speech (can you tell she loves getting involved?!) As an instructor, Miss Maddie focuses on Hip Hop and Tinies and loves to work with kids of all different ages!
Eduard Forehand began dancing at the age of nine in his hometown of Miami, FL. His first teacher was Thomas Armour who nurtured his love of dance which blossomed into an eighteen year career. Over those years as a professional, he had the pleasure of dancing with The Richmond Ballet, Charleston Ballet Theatre (SC), Augusta Ballet in GA, Dayton Ballet and finally The Louisville Ballet, where he spent 7 years and retired from his career in 2016. Throughout his diverse career he has had the opportunity to perform at all levels, from corp de ballet to principle roles. After retiring, Eduard was accepted to The University of Iowa as a fellow to pursue an MFA in Choreography. While there, he has had the chance to work with a diverse student population, teaching all levels of technique class. In Summer 2018, he received a grant to get certified with the American Ballet Theatre Teacher Curriculum program in NYC. He is currently certified for Pre-primary to level 3. Eduard enjoys teaching all levels of students and enriching their lives and techniques as they grow into wonderful artists of their own. He is thrilled to be share his knowledge with the dancers at The Dancer’s EDGE and thanks all the faculty and staff for the opportunity and support for this new and exciting chapter.
Taylor began dancing when she was 5 years old. She is a TDE alum and joined our teaching staff in the Fall of 2016. Taylor was an EDGE Assistant and part of The Company during her time as a student. After graduating high school, she went on to The University of Iowa where she received her B.A. in Elementary Education and was a member of the nationally-ranked Iowa Dance Team. During the day, Taylor teaches 1st grade, but at night she loves being at the studio - teaching students how to work hard, have fun and enjoy dance just as much as she does. In her free time, she loves watching movies, playing with her puppies and going to baseball games.
Carolon is a 2016 Dancer’s EDGE alum that joined our teaching staff in the fall of 2017. When she was just three years old, her mom signed her up for a ballet class and she has been dancing ever since! In 2009, Carolon started taking classes at The Dancer’s EDGE and trained in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and lyrical. In her years as a student, Carolon was involved in the studio as a teaching assistant, a member of the Company, and a dancer in The Nutcracker. She attends the University of Iowa where she is majoring in Human Resource Management and minoring in Dance. Carolon loves sharing her passion for dance with her students and teaching them how to work hard while having fun!
Carol received her early dance training in Cedar Rapids from Dieman-Bennett dancer Linda Earley. She earned her BFA with honors in dance performance from The University of Iowa and MFA in dance directing from The Ohio State University. She is a certified teacher of Labanotation (dance notation) and director from Labanotation scores. Carol is the dance instructor in the theatre department at Coe College and has choreographed extensively for theatre productions in the Cedar Rapids area. Carol’s ballet students have attended such programs as the American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive and Joffrey Ballet Chicago's International Summer Dance Intensive, competed at the Youth America Grand Prix, and performed as apprentices/trainees with companies such as Charleston Ballet Theatre, North Carolina Dance Theatre/Charlotte Ballet and BalletMet Columbus, and as members of Milwaukee Ballet II and Portland Festival Ballet. Carol teaches ballet at The Dancer's EDGE as an American Ballet Theatre® Certified Teacher who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 7 & Partnering of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.

Shannon is a 2015 Dancer’s EDGE alum that has been with the studio since the very beginning! This is her first year teaching on her own at the studio but has enjoyed being a teacher’s assistant, summer camp teacher, co-teacher, and company member in the past. Her mom signed her up for a tiny dancer class at the age of 3 and Shannon hasn’t been able to stop tapping her toes since. She spent the past four years at the University of Northern Iowa studying Elementary Education and Special Education and is working towards receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in December. At UNI she was involved in many education-based clubs, Camp Adventure, and Sparkles Cheerleading. Shannon is looking forward to sharing her love for tap and hip-hop with the students at The Dancer’s EDGE. When she’s not dancing or teaching you can find her shopping at Target, baking, or spending time with friends and family.
Matt Shea is a Cedar Rapids native. He began dancing at the age of 3. He continued his training from many various studios in the Cedar Rapids area. He attended the University of Iowa under the direction of Linda Crist, Jeffrey Bullock, David Berkley, & Alan Sener. He found his love of teaching through local theater & dance studios. He has over 20 years of experience teaching. Many of his students have gone on to collegiate dance programs/teams, danced for the NBA/NFL, & many have gone on to become dance instructors themselves. Matt enjoys pushing his students to help reach their full potential.
Charlie is Cedar Rapids native and co-founded The Dancer's EDGE with his wife Stephanie in 2008. He has been dancing for over 30 years and instructs Tap, Hip Hop and Tinies classes at the studio in addition to directing the studio's competition team, The Dancer's EDGE Company. He graduated from the University of Iowa after having studied Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management and also holds a Minor in Vocal Music Performance from Cornell College. Charlie’s choreography has won numerous Grand Championship, Most Entertaining, and Best Choreography honors throughout the country, including a 2016 Industry Dance Award. He has an infectious passion for teaching and feels most at home when he's in the classroom acting like a big kid amongst his students. When Charlie isn’t dancing, he enjoys detailing his car to an insanely nerdy level, playing with his adorable puppies, traveling, and spending time with his wife and family.
Nichole began dancing at the age of 5 and started teaching her own classes when she was in high school. She attended the University of Iowa where she earned a B.A. in Dance and was a member and captain of the nationally ranked Iowa Dance Team. Upon graduating from Iowa Nichole moved to Los Angeles where she taught at several studios throughout the area and also coached a nationally competitive high school dance team. While living in L.A. she also had the opportunity to train with some of the countries most sought after instructors at studios such as Millennium Dance Complex and the Edge Performing Arts Center. After a couple of years in L.A., she returned to Cedar Rapids and began teaching at the EDGE as well as continued working as a dance team coach and choreographer. Over the years Nichole has performed with several Eastern Iowa companies including Theater Cedar Rapids, The Cedar Rapids Opera Theater, and has been a Spanish Dancer in the Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker. Her choreography has won numerous awards at both dance team and dance studio competitions throughout the midwest.
A native of Cedar Rapids, Stephanie has been dancing for over 25 years. She attended CR Washington High School and enjoyed participating in competitive dance, show choir, and theatre growing up. She was awarded the prestigious Presidential Scholarship to attend the University of Iowa and was named one of the Tippie College of Business "21 Best Students Under 21”. She graduated with honors from the University of Iowa after studying Finance, Actuarial Science, Entrepreneurship, and Dance. While at UI, she had the pleasure of taking class from some of the nation’s best dance instructors. After graduation, she began working in Corporate Finance for an insurance company, until transitioning to full-time work at The Dancer's EDGE in 2017.
Stephanie is an American Ballet Theatre® Certified Teacher who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. She teaches Ballet, Lyrical/Contemporary, and Tinies classes, in addition to co-directing the Company. Her choreography has won many top honors, including a 2016 Industry Dance Award. She enjoys teaching students of all ages and takes great pride in watching them grow into confident, professional young adults. When not dancing, Stephanie enjoys reading, puppy snuggles, and spending time with Charlie, friends, and family.
Miss Rachel is a 2016 TDE Alumni that joined our teaching staff in the Fall of 2016. Rachel was an EDGE Assistant, a member of Company and performed in The Nutcracker as the Dew Drop Fairy during her time dancing here at The Dancer's EDGE. After graduating high school, she has gone on to major in Elementary Education and minor in Dance at the University of Iowa. She is looking forward to starting her Senior year at University of Iowa and spending the rest of her time doing what she absolutely loves - being at the studio! Miss Rachel is passionate about sharing her love for dance with her students while teaching them more than just dance along the way!
Katlyn began dancing at The Dancer's EDGE in 2008; throughout her time at the EDGE, she was involved with our Company Program and an EDGE Assistant. She graduated with a Finance degree from Iowa State University. Currently, she works as a Credit Analyst at GreatAmerica Financial Services and is our Office Manager at night and on the weekends (hence the late night responses to emails!). As our Office Manager, Katlyn coordinates our "behind the scenes" tasks, manages special projects/events and helps all of our wonderful EDGY families with any questions they may encounter. In her spare time, she enjoys biking/running, traveling, reading sappy romantic books and eating Oatmeal Cookie Halo Top.
Sarah is a native of Springville, Iowa. She graduated high school in 2001 and after 9/11 joined the United States Navy. Sarah served our country for over 10 years, she returned home after starting her family. Sarah has two daughters Madison and Anabelle who have danced with The Dancer’s EDGE since 2015. Madison and Anabelle are both active in The Company and participated in the Nutcracker. Madison and Anabelle have also participated in beauty pageants all over the country with their mom as their coach/stylist. In 2015 Sarah graduated with her Master’s degree in Healthcare Management, she also holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Currently, she works as a Billing Specialist at NBC Comcast and is our EDGE Apparel Manager at night. She is the Program Director with Springville Youth Sports, an active member of the Springville Economic Development Committee, and has over 200 hours of volunteer service with the USO. Sarah has been married for 11 years and has 4 children. In her spare time she enjoys running, traveling, and watching her daughters dance.
